Airbnb is Adventure Archivestrying to disrupt not just the hotel industry, but the entire travel industry.

That's why the home-rental platform just added the ability to book restaurant reservations directly through its app in just more than a dozen U.S. markets.

"The ability to book reservations at a curated selection of restaurants is part of our ongoing commitment to focus on the entire trip, not just homes, and follows the launch of Experiences last year," Airbnb wrote in a blog post.

Airbnb's restaurant reservations are going live through a partnership with Resy, the restaurant reservations platform. The partnership presents some competition for other reservation apps like OpenTable.

The restaurants presented on Airbnb's app will be curated by Resy, and the companies are considering offering special features like prix fixe menus only for Airbnb travelers. Airbnb is also working on translations about featured restaurants for international travelers in the U.S.

Users can search within Airbnb for restaurants by cuisine, time of day, type of meal, and location.

Right now, in-app restaurant reservations are available in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Miami, Charleston, Austin, Seattle, Denver, Portland, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Nashville. International destinations will be added in the coming months, Airbnb said in its blog post.

Airbnb launched its Trips feature last November, marking its first major expansion beyond home rentals. Its Trips features offered "experiences" like local tours and outings.
