Yep -- according to a clip originally shared by Supper Mario Broth on Monday, all we had to do was slide down the stairs and we could have been rid of the bulbous ghoul faster than you can say "Let's a-go".

Tragically we don't have a copy of Super Mario World to hand so can't immediately verify this -- but unless it's a very smooth piece of editing, the gif looks genuine.

People were flabbergasted.

Soon, other Mario-themed hacks were being circulated.
